I am guessing this would be popular with the kids if it were released today instead of eleven years ago. To let y'all know this is Victoria Williams and Mark Olson(the Jayhawks) doing laid-back west coast Joshua Tree folk.

i'm gonna make her

I think it was two years ago listening to an old CD from Oxford American, that I came across a song by Jim Ford. Later I cam across a Year's Best List that included this gem. It took some time and extra cash to find it, since it is a German import. But so worth it!
Some funky ass country, or something from Mr. Ford. Who wrote songs for/with and hung out with Sly Stone and Bobby Womack and other crazy LA crazies.
This disc has his only full length plus singles and some unreleased songs.

Raw Spitt

Here is one I have been wanting to put up for awhile. I guess Swamp Dogg didn;t want to flood the market with his albums, so he recruited Charlie Whitehead to become Raw Spitt and made this album. Pretty much the same vein as ol Swamp Dogg.

Ain't Hittin On Nuthin

Here is the wonderful album "The Backbone of America Is A Mule And Cotton" from Abner Jay. An awesome one-man-band. Side A has the title track plus 5 Stephen Foster hits, side B is a Medley of six gospel songs. Dad had this hidden amongst the Various Artists section, along with a few other nice records that will be thrown up here at some point.
